Contractors often face the challenge of not having firm enough ground for cranes and other large-scale machinery to  gain safe and secure access to construction sites.  Wooden pathways known as crane mats laid out on the ground provide a foundation for these huge machines to move around the property safely, easily and without causing undue environmental impact.

Milano Rail’s customer, Beasley Forest Products, since purchased by Yak Mats, is a crane mat manufacturer that rails the product via Norfolk Southein to Milano’s Mt. Vernon transload facility.  From there, Milano trucks the mats to central Illinois construction companies.
